Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Truefinish Monterey Epoxy Flooring website and any work you hire us to do. By using this site, asking for a quote or booking a job, you agree to them, so please read them before you schedule work with us.
"We," "us" and "our" mean Truefinish Monterey Epoxy Flooring. "You" means the person using the site or hiring us. If a signed contract for your job says something different from these terms, the contract controls for that job.
What we do
We're a flooring contractor in Monterey, CA. We install epoxy, polyaspartic, metallic and urethane cement floor coatings, polish, stain, seal, grind, resurface and level concrete, and coat pool decks, for homes and businesses in Monterey and the cities around it. You can see the full list of services on our home page and read more about us.
The descriptions, photos and examples on this site are general information. They aren't a promise that any one floor will look or perform exactly like another, because every slab is different and the final scope of your job is set in your written estimate or contract.
Estimates and pricing
Quotes are free, done on site and carry no obligation. We look at the floor in person because the condition of the concrete, moisture in the slab, cracks, old coatings and the size and layout of the space all change the work and the price.
A quote is based on what we can see and test before the job starts. If we find something once work is underway that couldn't reasonably be seen beforehand, such as hidden damage, high moisture or an old coating that won't come up, we'll stop, explain it to you and agree on any change in price or scope in writing before we go on.
Unless a quote says otherwise, it's good for 30 days, after which material costs and our schedule may change it.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We schedule work once you accept the estimate. Start dates and finish dates are our best estimate, and weather, humidity, temperature, material delivery and the condition of the slab can move them, so we'll tell you as soon as we know of a change.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area, clear it of vehicles, furniture and stored items unless we've agreed to move them, and provide working power and water. Coatings need time to cure, so you agree to keep people, pets and vehicles off the floor for the time we give you, because walking or driving on it early can damage the finish.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (831) 204-4420 as soon as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials made or tinted for your job, or after work has begun, you're responsible for the cost of those materials and the work completed up to that point. Any right to cancel you have under California law still applies.
Payment terms
The amount and timing of any deposit and payments are set out in your written contract. The balance is due when the work is complete unless the contract says otherwise.
If a payment is late, we may pause work on an unfinished job until it's paid, and you'll be responsible for reasonable costs of collecting what's owed, as California law allows. If you have a question about an invoice, contact us before the due date so we can sort it out.
Limits on our liability
Our responsibility for any claim connected to our work is limited to the amount you paid us for the job that the claim is about, to the extent California law allows. We aren't responsible for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a space or lost business, unless the law says we must be.
We aren't responsible for problems caused by conditions outside our control or our scope of work, including movement or settling of the slab, moisture or water coming up through the concrete after installation, existing cracks that return, misuse, harsh chemicals, hot tires on a coating not made for them, or care that doesn't follow our instructions.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, including for our own gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Warranty and what it doesn't cover
Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee, and any written warranty for your job is the one stated in your contract. Material makers' warranties pass to you as the makers provide them, and they usually depend on following the maker's care instructions.
Apart from what's written in your contract, the website and our services are provided as they are, without other promises, to the extent California law allows. Concrete is a natural material, so color, sheen and texture can vary from samples, photos and other floors, and that variation isn't a defect. Slip resistance depends on the finish chosen and how the floor is kept, so wet or oily floors can still be slippery.
Resolving a problem
If you're unhappy with any part of our work, tell us first. Call (831) 204-4420 or use our contact page, describe the problem and give us a fair chance to look at it and make it right, because most issues are settled quickly once we see the floor.
If we can't settle it between us, either of us may take the dispute to a court in Monterey County, California, including small claims court where the amount qualifies.
Governing law
These terms, your use of this website and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law.
Website use
You may use this site to learn about our services and contact us. You agree not to copy its content for commercial use, interfere with how it works or submit false information through our forms. Links to outside websites are there for your convenience, and we aren't responsible for their content.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes don't affect a job already under a signed contract unless you agree to them in writing.
If you have a question about these terms, reach us through our contact page or call (831) 204-4420.
